Registration Form MUNROES ISLAND FIELD TRIP Munroes Island was purchased by the Nature Conservancy Council of Canada in 1992 and is now a wilderness reserve. Habitats include wetland and softwood woodland. Wildlife includes eagles, ospreys, seals, herons and many other species of birds. Dr. David Garbary, a biology professor with St.Francis Xavier University, will share with participants: v Conspicuous erosion of natural shorelines both on the exposed side of Northumberland Strait and in Caribou harbour itself. v Observations on plant communities that include boreal forest, salt marsh and sand dune systems. Participants are required to meet at the Museum of Industry entrance at 3pm on May 24th. It is a 15-20 minute drive from Stellarton and the field trip will take 60 - 90 minutes. Clothing recommendations: rubber boots, hat and rain gear Terrain conditions: Very gentle walking; no hills and no rough ground.
